Link to the Agenda/Notes from their last meeting.

Please let them know if you'd like to get involved (as a leader or participant) in any of the working groups described in the notes.

Update about meeting from email:

A reporter and photographer from the Star Tribune will attend the meeting to learn more about our work and to interview some of you in preparation for an article about the grassroots efforts and identities of Indivisible groups. We hope to have a big turnout to prove to Jason Lewis that this movement has momentum and isn't going away. Please consider recruiting one person to attend the meeting with you, especially someone who hasn't attended before.

The agenda for the meeting includes a presentation on resources for tracking legislation;  hearing from a CVI member who visited Lewis in his Washington office; and breaking up into working groups to ensure that we're moving forward with our various initiatives. If you are involved with issue-specific activism, we invite you to bring materials related to your work. We'll have tables set up so you can gather support from others attending the meeting.

Actions:

  • Call Jason Lewis's office (651-846-2120every day to encourage him to rethink his position (here and here) on the AHCA. Here's a script to use:

"I understand that Obamacare is imperfect; however, millions of Americans depend on it for coverage. I want Rep. Lewis to be able to guarantee me that AT LEAST as many people will still be eligible for coverage if it is repealed. We can't know that without formal analysis from the Congressional Budget Office. Please ask Rep. Lewis to oppose any further action on the legislation until a CBO is available. I would appreciate if you could follow up with me. I can be reached at [provide contact info]."

  • Think about a day during the week of 3/20 when you might be free to visit Jason Lewis's office. We need to keep up momentum with our visits, particularly at a time when Lewis is so strongly supporting the AHCA and is behaving so antagonistically towards Indivisible groups. At the meeting Tuesday night, we'll share a sign-up form and see if we can schedule 30-minute visits every half hour on a particular day that week from 9 to 5.

Looking forward to seeing you (and a friend!) Tuesday night.
